Shifty Polar Bear Racer!

I made an macro that recalculates the best VMG course after a shift. I also wanted to find out when the best time to tack in a header would be. I used my L28 polars and I made the assumption I would loose 3 boat lengths per tack. I got my answer as far as pinching and footing.... There is also a temporal component. There is a minimum angle/time point where tacking becomes worth it. Cool stuff! Granted the real world and the math world are different.... but I have a better idea of what my upwind plans are... The next thing to do is quantify the effects of bad air!
