Jaycees... They Let me Join!

I went to a Jaycee meeting, hoping to get a free brat and do some "networking".... I met a bunch of nice people who really like bud light and the band Dokken..... They asked me what I was interested in and I said secret societies. i said we need to spy on the free masons... maybe have a brat fry in order to raise funds to support such an effort. They said I was funny.... but I think it was a PR laugh. Now I'm off to find out who Dokken is....

YC one year review

I'm supposed to get my one year review at the YC today. I'll put it off till next month. Scary! Hopefully I'll think of something nice to say... like.... "Hey, at least my bar tab is all paid up..." or "When it comes to volunteer work, I was under the impression the thought is what really counts" and the fallback catch phrase in case all else fails.... "It wasn't me!! People can do all kinds of crazy things with photoshop these days!"

I suppose I could take the 5th. But I wanted to take 1st! I don't think they have a trophy for the 5th...

Thank you for not Smoking Mr. Buckley!

I just saw Christopher Buckley's Movie Thank you for not smoking. It was the funniest movie i have seen in years. I had to find out more about the man who wrote it. I was delighted to find out he was a member of the Skull and Bones society! I knew the person who wrote that story had to be someone ... well.... someone I wouldn't mind drinking wine with while plotting things in a smokey room. Good Job Chris! I can't wait to see your next movie about aliens!

Secret Societies

Well
I took the first step in joining a secret society. I inquired about the local chapter of the Free Masons. I'm hoping they will let me join. I think it will be fun learning about all of their secret stuff. But I can't tell! I'll keep the secrets. That is part of the fun! I hope they let me dig a tunnel from my house to the Masonic temple. That way I can go there without anyone knowing!

Rapscallion vs. The Dutch Mafia

Sometimes the Secret Societies disagree with my mutant perspective. That's ok. I realize not everyone can think like me, that would simply be crazy! In this case the dutch mafia at the Yacht Club is putting the squeeze on my serial contrarianism. I bought Rapscallion because she was a whole lot of bang for the buck. Basically she was half price; cosmetically rough, but a sound and accomplished racer. I brought her back to a town that had a fleet of these boats - the only one design Laser 28 fleet in the country actually. Last summer the racing was a whole lot of fun. I raced my own boat sometimes and I crewed on Warbird, the laser 28 I started on the rest of the time. I caught some guff for not racing my boat all of the time; the fleet numbeers had to remain high I was told... OK!, I grinned as I raced on Warbird some more. I spent the rest of the time teaching the Wife how to sail. We would cruise every chance we got. I was sailing every day. It was a great summer! I also took Ali on some races with my Dad on his boat. He sails on a smaller lake near by. Lake Winnebago is much more forgiving than Michigan; smaller waves, slower boats, and the sailors are not as high strung.

The gruff began when I started to talk about moving my boat to Winnebago. The Dutch Mafia and the One Design-da-niestas began to balk and growl. "Think of the fleet man!" were the nicer comments, the rest were worthy of SA poop fights. I have grown immune to banter of that nature, only monkeys fling their own poop. I like monkeys! I also started to modify the boat in order to make it more wife friendy. Furling jib, Genny with a dousing sock - with the idea i could race with the wife - and make it a little easier on us. No one design for Raps? The Peanut Gallery cried "Wimpy Wimpy Wimpy"

But now the mob has reached a frenzied apex when I decided a small two seater trimaran was the platform I was gonna race with the Pirate Librarian. They started acting like I was trying to steal all of their rum and their birthdays at the same time!!!
It's OK Dutch Mafia, It's OK.

The YC has a Ban on multi hulls at the moment, thanks to a recient degrangolade involving a 20+ year club member who bought a boat with two many hulls. The Tri guy quit the club, and doesn't race. He can't. I'm a big fan of windmills and wooden shoes, but if those clogs were meant for walking... down the dyke that leads to the darkside -they are gonna walk without Raps skipping gleefully behind.

The only serious bugger at the moment is the fact my boat is "stuck" because I don't have a trailer yet. I would pull the ride and race on the little lake this year without batting a belfry. Better yet, I should chop off the keel and make it trailer launchable so i don't need a YC crane to launch it, and it would also put an end to this one design sillyness once and for all. But all of these plans are based on possibilities that depend on my future employment... that origami future has yet to unfold. So, I guess I'll smile while I ride my skooter through the storm of monkey poop. After all, it is a beautiful day, the sun is shining, and I love monkeys!

In the meantime, I'm penning the mission statement of the Sheboygan multihull sailing club!!! My own Secret Society!
no dues, you don't even have to like boats to join! My kind of YC!

Secret Societies Again!

I think I have an idea for my own sailing club. My present YC doesn't allow multi hulls to race. They are banned from racing. Personally, I never understood the logic in turning sailors away because of what kind of boat they sail, but that is just me. I know of at least one more sailor that would like to race trimarans on the Great Lake and several others interested in racing on the little lake. The little lake people are also pretty pumped about starting a disabled sailor program as well!

I really think the little lake is a better for the boss to learn how to sail on, and if I'm successful at starting a disabled sailing program the situation should make her feel more comfortable. The L28 one design secret society will have to live without me for a year, I think I'm going to the dark side!

Dutch Mafia!

There is a secret society at our yacht club called the dutch mafia. They control the costume jewelry trade in this town - and if you don't let them in on the take - your beads are doomed! At least they will never be able to sneak up on anybody; because of the wooden shoes. They are so loud. I'm talking about the shoes, not the mafia.

the secret societies are up to things again!

Well, elections are already causing a stir on other blogs and around the watercoolers of office america. I wonder about Hilary and obama and the colbert. The robot is still running calfornia, it would make a good battery commercial! I know, he probably plugs himself in at night. I am only interested in the 3d parties; the ones big money doesn't bother to buy. What are they up to?
The Libertarians and the Green party, unreasonable men without a chance in Hades.... making their peeps proud. When will the world be ready for a REAL 3d party candidate?

only the secret societies know, maybe they could shed some light on the subject....

secret societies

Secret societies are neat. I always wanted to be a part of a secret society. Take for example, the skull and bones society; the fellas at yale. I would have loved to join that, but they didn't have a chapter at the Fond du Lac community college, where I spent my first 3 Junior years.

Rumor has it the skull and bones club is connected to the illuminati. Neat! I read about this society of powerful families hell bent on a new world order. They also are supposed to worship satan. Ahhh, the dark side of the force. Secret societies seem to have all of the fun.

The closest I came to a secret society was a rogue 4h club splinter cell. We were breeding a highly trained rabbit army; undoubtly the luckiest army in history!!!!!!

I want to join the free masons... they are supposed to be part of the illuminati. I heard the free mason membership is down.... maybe devil worship isn't as popular with the kids nowa days.... now that they have ipods and x boxes.

I believe I have some great facial hair for a secret society... the pointy mustache is coming along nicely. Also, as far as devil worship goes... I say what the hell. those druid hooded robes look snazzy. What is the worst that can happen?
